Leather & Polka Dots

12 Feb

The theme of today’s pictures? Wind. It seems the snow has given way to 25 mph wind gusts, but I can’t complain too much since I’m completely over the snow. I was so excited to see it was sunny, so I could actually get some bright photos! Once I got outside I spent most of the time attempting to look somewhat cute while my hair was whipping me in the face. You can decide for yourself how that turned out. I now have a newfound respect for supermodels who have to pose with wind machines. I’m not a supermodel and the wind here wasn’t from a machine, but I’m assuming it’s pretty similar!

Luckily, these leather pants from H&M kept me pretty warm! I think some people tend to stay away from leather because they think it’s too intense or edgy. I personally feel that anyone is capable of pulling off the leather look. Adding a fun, less serious top helps balance out leather bottoms. For today’s look, I thought this polka dot blouse was the perfect way to liven up my outfit. And of course, I was more than happy to wear sunglasses for the first sunny day in a long time!Leather & Polka Dots 2

The only way to tame my hair: holding it down.

Hi, I’m also in the Cincinnati area! I’m currently at UC studying journalism and am in a blogging seminar, so I’m now trying my hand at blogging, too. I love your style posts — this is my first time on your site. It’s great to see a Cincinnati blogger interested in the same things as me! So glad I stumbled upon this blog!

Thank you so much Holly! It’s nice to meet someone else in Cincinnati. I studied journalism until midway through my junior year of college, so we have a lot in common! I’m glad you like my blog. I checked yours out too, and it’s great! We should definitely keep in touch!

Thank you so much, Sarah!! I was having a bad day, and your comment just made it a lot better! If it makes you feel any better, I always have to get HUGE sizes because their clothes fit so weird on me. It’s like shopping at Baby Gap!

  1. Leather & Polka Dots Round Two | baubles to bubbles - March 8, 2013

[…] I can’t believe a few short days ago, it was sunny and starting to feel like spring. Tuesday night, we got a huge snowstorm that dumped a fresh pile of snow around Cincinnati. Luckily, the weekend is supposed to be a warm one, so I’m hoping the snow melts away and is gone for good! Today’s outfit is another leather and polka dot combination. You can see my other take on this combination here. […]
