Week In Review

25 Jul

Another week down, another week of me not posting as much as I wanted to. I really hope work slows down a little bit in the fall! It’s alright though, because it’s Thursday night and I’m drinking a glass of pink moscato with raspberries in it. I started doing these Week In Review posts last weekend, and I really like it! Since starting my blog, I’ve stuck to mostly outfit posts, so this feels like a nice change to just write about the random things from the week.

1. I’m moving out in a few weeks, so the majority of my free time has been spent online shopping for bedroom decor. Also, if you follow me on Pinterest, you’ll know I’ve been pinning a lot of painted furniture. I had dreams of getting an old dresser and painting it a vibrant color, but eventually realized I have zero time for that. Instead, I’m going to paint an old nightstand that we have. Much smaller piece of furniture = much less stress (let’s hope, at least). I think I’m going with something in the blue family, so I’ll be sharing that soon!

2. Bakersfield date with Natalie. I posted on Monday about grabbing some food and drinks with Natalie last week. After dinner, we went to Washington Park and took some pictures for our blogs. Check out what she wore here!

3. This grilled tortilla Margherita pizza. I couldn’t help but smile from ear to ear when I saw this recipe. I’m always looking for easy dinner recipes that are also filling. I love to make food, but don’t have the time like I used to. The fact that there’s barely any ingredients and the steps are extremely simple makes me think I’ll be making this very often. Also, I’m Italian, and am quite fond of mozzarella. Buying fresh mozzarella in the fancy cheese section of the grocery makes me weirdly happy.

4. How chic is this Alice + Olivia tweed dress? I know, it’s not tweed season yet, but I’m already excited for fall fashion. I’m going to regret saying that when the weather changes, but this dress is making me see tweed. The shape is so flattering!

Love this! And can’t wait to see what color you paint your nightstand. I’m currently in the process of painting two thrifted nightstands emerald green!

Love that Alice + Olivia dress and I am pretty sure every blogger rounds up the week with “I wish I would have blogged more.”

Haha yeah, I always get so mad at myself at the end of the week. But then I remember that sleep is my best friend!

That pizza. It looks amazing! And I’m with you, fresh mozzarella is the best. If you haven’t already, you should try the mini mozzarella balls from Trader Joes. So good.

I haven’t tried those! I’m a sucker for fresh mozzarella. It’s like butter!

Work has been hectic for me as well & keeping me from a few of my favorite pastimes, esp. blogging! I honestly feel guilty when I don’t blog consistently. But, as you said, I’m taking it day by day & appreciating all of the little things in life. Wishing you well this summer. 😀

I’m glad I’m not the only one! I try to stick to a set scheudle for blogging, but sometimes life gets in the way!

That pizza looks scrumptious! We have tomatoes and basil growing in our backyard so we eat them with fresh mozzarella, olive oil, salt, and pepper and it’s SO good. Enjoy your weekend!

Buying cheese makes you happy, too?! I guess that’s what happens when we are Italian!
