Week in Review

29 May

I can’t believe this is my first blog post this week. It wasn’t my strongest week when it came to posting, that’s for sure. I’m blaming it on the fact the last two weekends have been spent in Cleveland. Cleveland was great, but all the traveling has taken a toll on my routine. My only plans this weekend are tonight, and then I’m hoping to take it easy. After work today, I’ll be heading to the preview party for the Warsaw Federal Incline Theater. I’ve been attending plays and musicals since I was little, so I’m really excited for another theater addition in Cincinnati. Hope everyone has a good weekend!

1. My eyes were mesmerized when I saw this Bloody Mariachi Cucumber Shot recipe. Yes, it’s in a hollowed out cucumber. As someone who has always loved bloody Mary’s, this is right up my alley. I feel like the most exciting part for me would be eating the cucumber after I take the shot. Cucumber is one of my favorite veggies.

2. This Lulu Frost tassel necklace would be a perfect lightweight summer necklace. It’s statement-making, but not too heavy for those hot nights. How cute would this look with a white dress?

3. Wall Street Journal reporter Elizabeth Holmes published an article this week about all the noticeable changes that have taken place at J.Crew over the last few years. It’s kind of funny, because she wrote perfectly thoughts I’ve had randomly as of late. I actually had a silk tee I bought last summer that got two massive holes in them within months of my buying it. Not cool. I still really like J.Crew, but I have noticed a downturn in the quality of their pieces. Has your obsession over J.Crew cooled lately?

Can you believe I’ve never had a Bloody Mary?! Maybe someday but I just can’t imagine liking it! Haha. But I have to admit, those are adorable! And I’m hoping that the J. Crew lower quality thing is a fluke – their styles are amazing!

That’s crazy! I think you’d like them, though. I like that you can control the amount of spiciness.

Thanks for sharing! Love Bloody Marys – and serving them in a cucumber – brilliant! Up here in Canada, we do a twist on the Bloody Mary – substitute tomato juice for Mott’s Clamato. Amazing, spicy, savoury!!
