Fall Jewels + A GIVEAWAY

17 Oct

Grey Fitted Turtleneck

Long time no blog! I feel like 2016 has been one big hiatus for me, but my schedule got crazy again the past few weeks. When my calendar started filling up at the beginning of the year, I already knew October was going to be my busiest month. Well, here we are mid-month, and it’s just as insane as I predicted. Last week was spent in sunny Orlando for a real estate conference. It was about 90% work and 10% fun, but if you’ve ever been to a conference you know it’s 0% downtime to get stuff done. We tacked on an extra day after the conference for lounging, which was much-needed and incredible. Next up on my whirlwind October agenda? The Cutler Real Estate awards banquet in Canton later this week, a weekend trip to Cleveland for Joe’s birthday and then one of my best friend’s weddings that I’m in the following weekend. Just typing all that made the panic set in. Sure, most of it is fun stuff, but all that traveling can wear a girl out!

Tara Lea Smith Jewelry

Uniqlo Turtleneck

I’m starting the week with some fresh fall baubles. I recently met up with my friend Tara Lea Smith to see the gorgeous pieces she’s been creating the past year. If you want me to paint a pretty (and sparkly) picture, when I got home I immediately laid all of the necklaces across my bed to start doing some outfit brainstorming. Yes, I have so many new pieces that they took up my entire bed. I’m excited to share them with you over the next few months!

First up is this colorful purple, pink and yellow statement maker. It’s actually been pretty warm here, which is totally cool with me. I decided to keep it warm on top and breezy on the bottom, pairing a fitted grey turtleneck with a pleated leather skirt. I also recently rediscovered these mules that I got back in spring and had totally forgotten about. Score!

Bauble Wish List: Charm & Chain Collection

16 Jun

You’ve probably seen me mention Charm & Chain here before, as it’s one of my favorite online destinations for the latest and greatest in jewelry. With pieces from Erickson Beamon, DANNIJO, Loren Hope and Kendra Scott to name a few, it’s pretty much bauble heaven.

I was ecstatic when I recently noticed that Charm & Chain released their own namesake collection. After years of selling the best from other jewelry lines, they decided to create a range of pieces inspired by their vast knowledge and experience. I personally love that they created statement pieces as well as some simple, understated options. There’s also a vintage charm that resonates throughout the collection. Basically, I want everything they’re selling.

Bauble Wish List: Bounkit

11 May

I feel like it’s been way too long since I last did a Bauble Wish List! This rainy weather is actually what reminded me that I haven’t been sharing my jewelry favorites lately. I was freaking out a little because the weather has been so rainy here the past two weeks, which means I haven’t been able to shoot any outfit pictures. That’s when it hit me that I was way overdue to showcase some of my favorite dreamiest jewels (and by dreamiest I mean I dream of owning all these pieces).

This month, I wanted to discuss a jewelry designer who’s known for creating colorful, statement-making stunners. Hassan Bounkit’s collections are hand crafted in New York City, but the pieces themselves are inspired by his native Morocco. The bold colors are what made me instantly fall in love with Bounkit. Not only are the colors themselves incredible and eye-catching, but when the gemstones are mixed together? Even better! I’m always amazed how each collection pairs colors I’d never think would look good together, but somehow make total sense.

The best part? Bounkit releases three collections every year, so there are always gorgeous new pieces to sink your teeth into (or should I say “feast your eyes on”). I picked some of my favorite baubles from the current Bounkit collection to share with you guys. These pieces remind me so much of spring and summer, and they’re inspiring me to put together my most fun and colorful outfits. Enjoy!

Week In Review

19 Feb

Midwest friends, I know you’re probably just as excited as I am for this weekend. Hopefully by the time this post is published, we’ll be surrounded by the spring-like weather we’ve been promised all week. I’m hoping I can take advantage of this rarity of a warm winter weekend and get outside a little bit. My work schedule is already pretty jam packed for the weekend, but I’ll try to sneak in some time outdoors. Do you have any fun plans for this nice weather?

This post from Glitter Guide yesterday about must-try birthday cakes had me salivating. I’m not a huge cake person, but any of these could make me change my tune. I don’t crave sweets a lot, but when I do I need it immediately. I usually end up whipping some dessert together, blacking out once it’s done and eating until I can no longer breathe. Let’s just say I can envision that happening with any of these cake recipes.

With New York Fashion Week winding down, it’s been a whirlwind of high fashion as of late. I saw so many great collections that left me speechless, but I was especially enamored with Rachel Zoe’s presentation. I feel like I would wear every single piece worn, and it reminded me a lot of my personal style. The vibe was a brilliant mix of feminine, glamorous and a healthy dose of menswear-inspired, and it was amazing. Rachel, if you’re reading this, I’ll take this outfit 😉

I recently missed out on a Kate Spade flower cocktail ring I had planned on ordering. It was a new arrival this month, and part of the Madison Avenue Collection. I showed my mom, and told her I would be treating myself to it, and got busy and didn’t make the purchase right away. I went back a few days later, and IT WAS SOLD OUT. I was so devastated, and immediately emailed customer service. Unfortunately, it’s gone for good, and I will never hesitate again when I fall in love with a piece of jewelry. I’ve started looking at other floral cocktail rings, and really love this statement ring by Lele Sadoughi. It’s big, but something about it seems really dainty, too.

Bauble Wish List: Kendra Scott Spring

16 Feb

It’s time for February’s Bauble Wish List! How is it mid February already? I want time to slow down, but I also want it to be spring, so I’m a little conflicted. How about time flying until spring arrives? I think that’s the best alternative.

Not only am I anxious for spring because of the weather, but now that I’ve seen the Kenda Scott spring collection in person, I’m even more ready for it. Luckily, the jewels are something we don’t have to wait around for because you can shop them now!

I attended an event at the Kendra Scott store in Liberty Township over the weekend, and was amazed by everything I was seeing. There are lots of gorgeous stones in this collection, and some incredible pieces that incorporate unique pearls. There are a lot of different pearl varieties too, including black brown and the standard ivory.

I fell in love with the amethyst Carey earrings, and knew I needed to get them. I included them below, but it’s hard to see its true beauty online. They’re a stunning shade of pastel purple, and think they really complement brown hair. Plus, I have a lot of weddings to attend this year, and have been searching high and low for a reliable pair of statement earrings. I can’t wait to style them!

I included my other favorites from the spring collection below. Everything looks rich and makes for a subtle statement. The stones do all the talking, and no two pieces are the same.

The Perfect Pairing: Peppermint Kiss & Emerald Baubles

24 Dec

peppermint champagne christmas cocktail recipe

Merry Christmas Eve everyone! Just wanted to pop in and share my new video that just went up. I’m starting a new series called “The Perfect Pairing”, and I’m really pumped about it. Basically, it’ll be me pairing fun champagne cocktails with a piece of jewelry that I think is a match made in heaven. You know how they have food and wine pairings at restaurants? Think of it like that, but with bubbly and sparkles!

To kick off the series, I’m making a Peppermint Kiss cocktail. You probably have the ingredients stocked in your bar already, so it’s an easy last-minute drink idea. I paired that with a stunning pair of statement earrings. Seriously, they’re stunners!

I hope you enjoy, and have a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Bauble Wish List: J.Crew Jewels

19 Aug

It feels like it’s been forever since I did my monthly Bauble Wish List. I thought today would be especially fitting because I was on J.Crew’s site yesterday, and HOLY COW do they have some incredible pieces right now! I’m not going to lie, I haven’t paid much attention to J.Crew’s jewelry in the past year or so. I have some of my favorite pieces of jewelry that are from J.Crew, but they were 2012 purchases. After that, I kind of stopped seeking out their jewelry section for whatever reason. I honestly just think I forgot about it. Whatever the case, I spent about an hour last night oohing and aahing at their selection.

Bottom Row: Bright Multicrystal Necklace | Crystal Beaded Earrings | Crystal Foliage Necklace

Just take in all that color. I have to say I’m impressed! I love the styles and gemstones of each piece. It can be tricky mixing colors in a tasteful way, but J.Crew hit it out of the park on this selection. I think each of these pieces can be worn so many ways, and they really don’t seem like they’d be too limiting. I’m heading to Kenwood Towne Centre later this week, so I can’t wait to get an up close and personal look at these!

Week In Review

7 Aug

Hello there! I’m running on fumes at this point in the week. Work’s going great, and I’ve been incredibly busy with some exciting blog-related opportunities, so I’m not complaining. My boyfriend was supposed to be in town this weekend, but had a last minute change of plans. I was bummed at first, but now I’m a little excited to have some “me” time and hang out.

As usual, I wanted to share a little recap of what I loved this week. Have a good weekend!

Cincinnati friends, there’s a lot going on at Kenwood Towne Centre this month. I just published a blog post for the Fearless Fashionista blog, so check it out here. In addition to some fun store events, there’s also a ton of great back to school fashion. I’ve been covering all the latest trends, and which stores you can shop them at!

Jewelry lovers, listen up! I’ve shared my love for my friend Tara Lea Smith’s jewelry for quite some time on here, and guess what? She’s added lots of new pieces to her Etsy shop! I love this feminine statement necklace. The soft pink and pearls are giving off some serious Marie Antoinette vibes!

Now, let’s end the post (and week) with a cocktail. How good does this blackberry lemonade margarita look from From Valerie’s Ktichen? Also, the rim is covered in sugar and lemon zest! That’s enough to make me want to drink this tonight.

Video: Tara Lea Smith Earrings

30 Jul

Between my move, and trips to Florida and Cleveland this month, there hasn’t been much time to film a video. Well I’m back, and today I’m wearing lots of gorgeous earrings designed by the fabulous Tara Lea Smith! I’ve worn her jewelry many times before on here, and wanted to share some of the stunning earrings she’s created. Today’s YouTube video is made up entirely of pieces by Tara.

I’m also excited to say that I’ve seen the pieces she’s been working on lately, and you will not be disappointed. After seeing them in person, I think I spent the rest of the day with a smile on my face. It’s so nice having someone else who is just as passionate about jewelry as I am, and especially colorful jewelry!

Bauble Wish List: Color

25 Feb

How is it already Wednesday?! This week is flying by, but no complaints over here. Between being busy with work and what seems like a foot of snow frozen to the ground, I feel like I’ve been neglecting my blogging duties, but hopefully that’ll change when the snow melts a little.

I mentioned last week that I was traveling to Nashville over the weekend for a bachelorette party. It was actually my first trip to Nashville, and I have to say that I’m very impressed! I didn’t realize how big of a city Nashville was, and just how many amazing restaurants there are. There were cute places to eat and drink on every corner. There did happen to be an ice storm the second we arrived Friday, and the entire city was one big sheet Friday night. Everyone had their fair share of falls. Luckily my icy fall occurred in Cincinnati while packing up the car, so mine included minimal embarrassment (and nobody witnessing it). If you’re going to wipe out in public, that’s the way to go.

Since it seems like we’re going to be buried under this snow blanket for awhile, I’ve been trying to keep my spirits up with some colorful baubles. My poor wardrobe has been pathetic lately, and I’ve been in some major need of inspiration. This week I’m challenging myself to start wearing cute winter clothes again, and to put away the J.Crew pixie pants. This colorful collection is just what the doctor ordered!
